Goa Red Ribbon Festival is a festival organized to mark the World AIDS Day to raise awareness on HIV/AIDS with the engagement of young people who are disproportionally affected by it. The first edition of “Goa Red Ribbon Festival” was organized by Human Touch Foundation on 1st December 2018while the second edition was held on 30th November and 1st December 2019 at Jardim Garcia de Orta, Panjim
The festival is categorized under several major themes including improving the quality of life of those living with HIV, especially children, testing and counselling, fast-track elimination of the epidemic, stigma and discrimination, PrEP, etc. The festival is structured around interactive session on themes, exhibits, games, film screenings, stage entertainment and mascots.
The target audience are students from higher secondary schools and colleges across Goa. Around 1500 students are expected to join and engage in the festival.
Participations are invited from higher secondary schools and colleges for various creatives and competition, but not limited to face painting, quiz competition, skits, tshirt painting, zumba and flashmob for the cause, and other games.
The festival has do creatives to give messages, i.e. mascots, selfie with red ribbon, red ribbon tree, human red ribbon and candlelight memorial service.
