HIV and Women Initiative

The HIV Women’s Program provides culturally sensitive expert care for HIV-infected women, especially with regarding to aging with HIV. The program addresses the concern that HIV-positive women often neglect their own medical needs because they’re caring for dependents.

This initiative will engage in local and national advocacy and system strengthening to ensure women living with HIV have access to comprehensive services and antiretroviral therapy (ART) for themselves in a stigma free environment;

The service is established under the direction of Celina Menezes, a long time HIV survivor and an HIV activist.
